## Read the conversation first

Check for a reply, a booked appointment, a completed purchase, or a request to stop before sending another message. A follow-up can become irrelevant between the time it is scheduled and the time it runs.

Check every system involved. A CRM sequence and a teammate in the Message Center can both be about to contact the same person. Decide which one owns the next response and pause the other when a person takes over.

## Have a reason for the next message

A useful follow-up resolves a question, shares an update, or offers a simple next step. Avoid repeating the original pitch with stronger urgency. Use the person’s requested timing and local timezone when deciding when to contact them.

A relevant update

> Hi Casey, the Thursday opening you asked about is still available. Would you like me to hold it while you check your schedule?

## Agree on stopping rules

- Cancel follow-ups that no longer match the person’s situation.
- Pause the sequence when someone replies so a teammate can review the conversation.
- Stop when someone declines or asks not to be contacted.
- Set a small, deliberate follow-up plan and review nonresponders before continuing.
- Count all messages from your team and integrations together, rather than giving each workflow its own unlimited allowance.

**Keep in mind**

A cadence is an operating choice, not a guarantee of delivery. Miss Blue does not provide a universal number of follow-ups that makes unwanted outreach acceptable.

## Keep stop requests consistent across tools

Block the contact in Miss Blue when the organization should stop messaging that handle. Also update the CRM or external workflow that scheduled the outreach. A block protects messaging through Miss Blue; it does not edit an external system’s contact preferences or stop phone calls.
