Before you start
You need access to a ready number in the intended project. Start with a test recipient who has agreed to receive your message. Saving a contact or importing a list does not establish that someone wants to hear from your business.
Start the conversation
- Select your workspace and project, then open Conversations.
- Start a new conversation and choose the number you want to send from.
- Enter the recipient’s phone number with its country code, or the supported iMessage email address you intend to reach. Check it before sending.
- Write a short introduction with one clear reason for the message, then send it.
- Ask your test recipient to reply and confirm the reply appears in the same project’s conversation.
Hi Morgan, this is Alex from Cedar Studio. You asked about a consultation. Would Tuesday or Thursday work for a quick chat?
Check the result before sending more
A pending message has not finished sending. Sent, delivered, and read are different states; none of them is the same as a reply. Give a pending message time to settle and read any displayed error before trying again.
Once the test works, keep the conversation in one thread. Make sure a teammate or automation is not already responding before you send a second answer.
If you cannot send
- Confirm the selected number is ready and accessible to your account.
- Check whether the contact is blocked by your organization.
- Read the reason shown for an unavailable line or failed send.
- If a send times out, inspect the conversation before retrying; a missing confirmation does not prove that nothing was sent.
