## What a demo actually is

A real line, not a recording and not a sandbox. You sign in to the same console a customer uses, send from a real iMessage number, and watch what you send arrive on your own phone as a blue bubble.

It lasts thirty minutes from the moment you text. Nothing is charged and nothing is kept on file — there is no account to create and no card to enter.

## Start one

1. Text DEMO to (929) 272-7048 from the phone you want to try it on. That text is what tells us where to send everything, so use the device you will be reading messages on.
2. We text back a code — four characters, with a link. Open the link and the code is already filled in.
3. Choose Open my demo. You are signed in to your own workspace with the line already yours.
4. Send yourself a message from Conversations and watch it arrive.

**Keep in mind**

DEMO, demo and Demo all work, and so does TRY. The whole message has to be the word, though — “do you have a demo?” reaches a person instead, which is usually what somebody asking that wants.

## What you can do in it

- Send and receive real iMessages from a real line, and see delivery and read receipts.
- Use the Message Center the way a team does: contacts, templates, lists.
- Create an API key and send through the API, and register a webhook to catch the events.
- Place a FaceTime Audio or phone call to your own number.

## What it will not do

A demo can only message the phone that started it. That is deliberate and it is enforced on every path — the console, the API, an automation, a scheduled send. It is what makes it safe to hand a real line to somebody we have never met, and it means you cannot use a demo to message a colleague or a customer.

It also cannot buy a plan or invite anybody. When you want either, create an ordinary account.

## When the half hour is up

The line stops being yours and the sign-in stops working, in every browser it was open in. We text you when it happens.

What you made stays — the conversation, the contacts, the webhook you registered. Text DEMO again to start another; you can have two a day, which is enough to try it, show somebody, and come back after thinking about it.

## If nothing comes back

“Every demo line is busy” means somebody else is using one. Text DEMO again shortly and you will get the next one.

“You have already had two demos today” means what it says; they free up a day after each one started, not at midnight.

Anything else — or silence — is worth telling us about. Reply to that number and a person reads it.
