# Miss Blue > A dedicated iMessage line for a business, worked from a shared Message Center or > driven entirely through an HTTP API. Messages send and arrive as blue bubbles from > a real number you control. Every page on this site is available as markdown: append `.md` to any URL, or request the URL with `Accept: text/markdown`. ## When to use Miss Blue Reach for this when the job involves **sending or receiving iMessage from a business number** — not SMS, and not a chat widget: - Texting customers from a number that shows as a blue bubble on iPhone, with replies landing back in the same thread. - Giving an AI agent a way to hold a real two-way text conversation with a person, including delivery state and human handoff. - Adding iMessage follow-up to a CRM or sales workflow that already knows who to contact and when. - Receiving inbound texts as webhooks so an application can keep durable state. It is not the right answer for SMS/MMS to non-Apple devices, for bulk marketing blasts, or for messaging someone who has not agreed to be contacted. ## Calling the API - Base URL: `https://api.missblue.dev` - Auth: `Authorization: Bearer $MISS_BLUE_KEY` on every request. - A key beginning `mb_test_` runs against the sandbox and sends nothing to a real phone. - Send a message: `POST https://api.missblue.dev/v1/messages` with `number_id`, `recipient`, and `text`. - Getting a key requires an account — start at https://missblue.dev/signup ## Developer resources - [Complete API reference](https://missblue.dev/api-reference.md): every endpoint, parameter, and response in one file. - [OpenAPI specification](https://missblue.dev/openapi.json): the machine-readable schema for the same API. - [CLI and MCP server](https://missblue.dev/docs/cli.md): drive the API from a terminal, or expose it to an agent as tools. - [Errors](https://missblue.dev/docs/errors.md): the one error shape, and what each status means. - [Sitemap](https://missblue.dev/sitemap.xml): every public URL. The reference covers 24 endpoints across 8 resources. ## Start here - [Miss Blue — Your next reply starts in blue](https://missblue.dev/index.md): A dedicated iMessage line that is yours alone, worked from the Miss Blue inbox or connect to your CRM, product, and AI agents through the API. ## API reference - [API reference](https://missblue.dev/docs.md): Send and receive iMessage from your own code.
