Important search note

## Sendblue is not Sendinblue.

Sendblue is the business iMessage provider compared here. Sendinblue was an email-marketing brand that became Brevo. Newsletter and email-campaign alternatives answer a different question, so they are intentionally excluded from this guide.

The short answer

## Switch for a measurable reason—not a longer feature list.

Sendblue is an established managed iMessage API and CRM platform. A replacement only makes sense if it improves the part of the workflow your team actually feels: human conversation management, developer integration, implementation help, agent tooling, commercial fit, or infrastructure control.

Miss Blue is the direct alternative for teams that do not want to choose between API access and a usable conversation platform. Start from the Message Center, connect the API, or move between both around the same business line.

Compare the complete workflow

## API access, production rights, and a place to handle replies.

This focused comparison covers four managed providers. We publish Miss Blue, so this is a vendor-authored guide. The fit recommendations are our judgment; the linked product and pricing pages support the plan facts. We have not benchmarked every provider’s reliability or response rate.

Swipe across the table to see every column.

| Provider | API and team workflow | Production plan to evaluate | Testing and operations |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Miss Blue](https://missblue.dev/pricing) | HTTP API, signed project events, shared Message Center | $99/month dedicated line at the current sale rate; optional services cost extra | Free simulated API sandbox; Miss Blue operates Apple hardware. Live-line testing is separate. |
| [Sendblue](https://www.sendblue.com/pricing) | API / SDKs; confirm CRM and inbox requirements in a trial | $100/line AI Agent is inbound-first; full outbound requires Enterprise | Free shared sandbox: 10 verified contacts. Pricing excludes webhooks; homepage FAQ conflicts. Confirm access. |
| [Linq](https://linqapp.com/s/pricing) | API or CRM integration; validate the exact reply and handoff surface | Enterprise quote; no public production dollar figure | Sandbox available; confirm test entitlements and managed-line terms. |
| [Blooio](https://blooio.com/pricing) | API and integration options; validate the team’s working surface | $289/month Commercial Dedicated; $109 Inbound cannot start conversations | Shared Starter is $39/month with 5 new conversations/day. Managed delivery. |

Core plan boundaries checked September 13, 2026. A sandbox result does not establish live delivery performance.

Sendblue’s [homepage FAQ](https://www.sendblue.com/) and pricing table disagree about free sandbox events. We have not verified account-level access; confirm it with the provider before depending on it.

### A sales team

Test an expected first outbound message, a real reply, CRM owner routing, and a teammate taking over. An inbound-only plan cannot establish the first step.

### An inbound AI assistant

Test delayed replies, duplicate events, tool failure, and a request for a person. Choose on safe recovery and the total conversation workflow.

### An enterprise deployment

Request the contracted limits, security evidence, support response commitments, retention, export, and line recovery process. Do not infer an SLA from a marketing badge.

Build a test case from the [Miss Blue sandbox guide](https://missblue.dev/docs/sandbox), then compare the [send contract](https://missblue.dev/docs/sending-messages) and [signed reply events](https://missblue.dev/docs/receiving-messages). Keep the same acceptance criteria when evaluating another provider.

Migrating from Sendblue

## Move one complete conversation before moving the team.

Changing the API URL is only one step. Your migration also needs a destination line, identity mapping, suppressed contacts, reply routing, and a controlled cutover.

01

### Decide what happens to the number

Ask Sendblue and the destination provider whether your particular number can move, who owns it, and what interruption to expect. Do not assume that contact export includes number portability.

If you need a new number, plan how existing customers will recognize it and how the old line’s inbound conversations will be handled. Keep the original line available for the agreed transition period.

- Written number ownership
- Portability or new-line plan
- Inbound coverage

02

### Export contacts and preserve exclusions

Export what your current plan permits before cancellation: stable contact IDs, normalized addresses, consent evidence, blocked contacts, owners, and relevant history. Preserve exclusions before importing anyone into an automated workflow.

Keep historical records in a controlled archive if the destination cannot import them. Miss Blue does not promise that another provider’s transcript becomes native Message Center history.

- Normalize phone/email identity
- Import suppression first
- Verify history requirements

03

### Map the contracts explicitly

Maintain a mapping from old contact, line, thread, and message IDs to your own records and the new provider’s identifiers. Check authentication, media upload, rate limits, error states, and event envelope fields separately.

Miss Blue incoming messages expose the contact address as data.message.sender\_handle; the from field may be an opaque platform identifier (on a Twilio line it is the sender’s phone number). Use the documented address and line mapping instead of matching display names.

- Stable external IDs
- Provider-specific adapters
- No guessed identity mapping

04

### Prove reply handling in the sandbox

Test a successful send, reply, delayed receipt, duplicate delivery, rate limit, and unknown timeout outcome. Verify signatures on project webhooks and commit each event with its queued follow-up work before acknowledging it.

A simulated environment validates integration behavior. Follow with an internal live-number trial to verify actual channel delivery, attachments, sender identity, and the team’s inbox access.

- Simulated error cases
- Signed event verification
- Separate live trial

05

### Cut over with one active sender

Move a small eligible cohort first. Record which provider owns each conversation and prevent the old automation from sending once the new route is active. Mirroring reads is safer than allowing both systems to answer.

Drain or reconcile outstanding sends, checkpoint processed events, then change routing. Keep a rollback procedure that restores ownership without replaying already completed outreach.

- One send authority
- Queued-send reconciliation
- Rollback checkpoint

06

### Check the result before cancellation

Compare expected contacts, send outcomes, inbound replies, owner assignments, blocks, and unresolved tasks. Confirm that the team can find a reply and act on it without the old integration.

Keep the export and billing records you need, then follow the old provider’s cancellation and deletion process. Decide from observed workflow results rather than assuming a new channel will increase conversions.

- Reconciled pilot
- Working human handoff
- Documented exit

Build a decision scorecard

## Compare what happens after the first successful message.

Marketing tables tend to count checkmarks. Production teams should compare ownership, failure recovery, event semantics, limits, security, and the daily human experience. Score each candidate against the same test workflow.

01

### Choose the operating model

Decide whether the provider should operate the Apple-side delivery infrastructure or whether your team wants to supply and monitor its own devices. A low software subscription can still carry hardware, carrier, account recovery, security, and staff costs.

For a managed service, ask how lines are provisioned, monitored, replaced, and isolated. For a bring-your-own-device service, name the person who owns uptime and recovery.

- Managed or customer-operated
- Dedicated or shared line
- Recovery ownership
- True total cost

02

### Test the human surface

A successful API response does not answer who sees the reply, prevents two teammates from responding, pauses an agent, searches history, or recovers a failed automation.

If the provider includes an inbox, test it with the people who will use it. If every reply returns to a CRM, verify the exact write-back behavior rather than assuming the integration preserves full state.

- Shared visibility
- Assignment and collision control
- Searchable history
- Same-thread handoff

03

### Review the API as a state machine

Compare authentication, idempotency, message and thread identifiers, media, error classes, rate-limit headers, events, signatures, retries, replay, ordering, and versioning.

Run the same failure cases against every finalist: lost send response, duplicate event, delayed event, invalid destination, revoked line, oversized media, and human takeover during queued automation.

- Stable identifiers
- Idempotent sends
- Verifiable events
- Documented failure states

04

### Model the real commercial envelope

Ask for the plan that supports your actual outbound and inbound behavior—not merely the cheapest number on a pricing page. Include lines, contacts, messages, attachments, seats, integrations, environments, onboarding, and support.

Use three volume scenarios and request a written explanation of limits, overages, fair-use policies, contract length, cancellation, data export, and what happens when the line needs replacement.

- Normal and peak volume
- Outbound rights
- Overages and fair use
- Exit and export terms

05

### Validate security and consent

Map who can send from each line and how that permission is enforced. Check credential storage, workspace isolation, event verification, auditability, retention, subprocessors, incident handling, and deletion.

Channel access does not create permission to contact someone. Your workflow still needs appropriate consent, clear identity, opt-out handling, suppression, and compliance with the laws that apply to the audience and use case.

- Per-line authorization
- Server-held credentials
- Consent evidence
- Opt-out suppression

06

### Pilot one complete conversation

Use one line, one integration, one permissioned segment, and one accountable teammate. Test initial send, reply, media, delivery state, duplicate event, timeout, opt-out, human takeover, and recovery.

Measure qualified replies, time to human response, duplicates, mapping failures, opt-outs, completed outcomes, and operating time. Expand only when both customer experience and recovery are understood.

- Controlled baseline
- End-to-end failure tests
- Human ownership
- Measured rollout

A practical shortlist

## Match the provider to the job.

### Building a product or agent

Prioritize a versioned API, stable events, idempotency, safe credentials, testability, and a human recovery path.

### Running a sales or support team

Prioritize the Message Center or exact CRM experience, ownership, collision prevention, search, and mobile usability.

### Automating a CRM workflow

Prioritize contact mapping, trigger control, reply write-back, opt-outs, task creation, and handoff to the record owner.

### Owning the infrastructure

Compare managed service cost with hardware, carrier, Apple identity, monitoring, updates, incident response, and replacement work.

### Passing a security review

Ask for current evidence and contract terms instead of treating a badge or competitor claim as proof.

### Controlling total cost

Model the production plan at normal and peak usage, including people and recovery—not just the advertised starting price.

Frequently asked questions

## Questions buyers ask about Sendblue alternatives.

What is the best Sendblue alternative?+

The best fit depends on whether you need a developer API, CRM implementation, AI-agent tooling, a shared human inbox, or customer-operated infrastructure. Run the same end-to-end workflow against a short list instead of choosing from a generic ranking.

Why is Miss Blue an alternative?+

Miss Blue combines a managed virtual iMessage line, shared Message Center, and API access. A team can use the application directly, connect a product or agent, or use both around the same conversation workflow.

Should pricing decide the shortlist?+

Pricing matters, but compare the production plan and total operating cost. Include lines, usage, contacts, seats, integrations, onboarding, support, hardware, carrier service, monitoring, and recovery work.

Can we migrate an existing integration?+

Usually, but do not reduce migration to replacing a base URL. Map identifiers and error states, adapt authentication and event verification, dual-run safe state where practical, test idempotency, and keep a rollback path.

Can AI agents use these platforms?+

Many expose APIs or agent tooling. The important questions are whether tools are narrow, inbound events are durable, policy and consent remain outside the model, and automation pauses before human takeover.

Do these services require our own Mac?+

Managed providers operate the delivery infrastructure. Bring-your-own-device products require the customer to supply or rent Apple hardware and take on more monitoring and recovery responsibility.

How should we verify competitor claims?+

Use official documentation, pricing, security material, and a written quote dated for your evaluation. Treat every vendor-authored comparison—including this one—as a starting point, then reproduce important claims in a trial or technical review.

Does iMessage remove consent requirements?+

No. Use the channel for expected, relevant conversations, retain the permission required for the outreach, identify the sender appropriately, and honor opt-outs and applicable law.
