Handle stop requests and messaging opt-outs

Stop further outreach, block messaging in Miss Blue, and update any connected sequences.

Treat a clear stop request as a stop request

A customer may write STOP, unsubscribe, do not contact me, or another clear request to end messages. Stop promotional follow-up and have the team record the preference in the system that manages the relationship.

Do not require a particular keyword before a person’s plainly stated preference counts. If the intent is unclear, have a person review the conversation before another automated follow-up.

Apply the Miss Blue messaging block

A Miss Blue block covers the normalized handle across the organization’s projects. It does not edit external CRM preferences, revoke a person’s phone number, or block calls. A request already dispatched cannot be recalled by applying a block.

  1. Open the correct contact in Contacts and confirm its phone or iMessage email.
  2. Choose Block, read the organization-wide effect, and confirm Block contact.
  3. Pause or remove the contact from connected CRM sequences, scheduled jobs, and other systems that might contact them.
  4. Check for separately stored phone and email handles if the request applies to both.

Review any request to resume

Do not assume a later START message automatically removes a manually applied Miss Blue block. Review the person’s request and update the block and external preferences deliberately when appropriate.

Blocked incoming messages are suppressed in Miss Blue’s member messaging flow. Use another agreed channel if you need to resolve a mistaken block; do not rely on the blocked thread to surface a new request.
