Set up email, browser, and call notifications

Choose which replies reach you and understand when browser alerts can appear.

Choose your email notifications

These alerts are for conversations you started, replied to, or called. Merely opening a conversation does not subscribe you. A new inbound conversation that nobody has participated in still needs monitoring in the shared inbox.

  1. Open Settings and find Message notifications.
  2. Turn on Email me about my conversations if you want reply emails.
  3. Choose All my numbers, or Only some and select the lines you want to hear about.
  4. Check for a save error after changing the setting. With Only some enabled and no numbers selected, no reply emails are sent.

Enable alerts in this browser

The browser preference belongs to this member in this browser. It does not automatically enable alerts on another computer. Browser support varies, especially on mobile; use in-app unread indicators and email where desktop notifications are unavailable.

  1. In Settings, choose Enable browser notifications.
  2. Allow notifications in the browser prompt. If access was previously denied, update the site’s notification permission before trying again.
  3. Keep Miss Blue open. Desktop alerts concern participated conversations in the selected project while you are away from the active Miss Blue tab.

Turn on the incoming-call sound

Use Call sound in the app header to enable an audible ring for incoming FaceTime Audio. Keep the app open and make sure the browser tab, system audio, and output device are not muted.

Call sound, desktop message alerts, and reply emails are separate controls. Enabling one does not turn on the others.

If a notification is missing

  • Check that you participated in the conversation and still have access to its number.
  • Confirm the selected project for browser alerts and the selected numbers for email alerts.
  • Check browser permissions, notification settings on the computer, and any focus or do-not-disturb mode.
  • Use email for replies when Miss Blue is closed; desktop alerts are not a background mobile push service.
