Record and send a voice note

Use your microphone or attach an audio file, and distinguish recording, upload, and delivery.

Record from the conversation

Stopping the recorder does not send the recording. If you switch away before finishing, do not assume an unfinished take was saved. Keep the conversation open until the attachment is ready.

  1. Open the intended conversation and select Record a voice note beside the composer.
  2. Allow microphone access when prompted and speak into the selected microphone.
  3. Choose Stop voice note when finished. Wait for the recording to upload and appear in the attachment list.
  4. Remove the attachment if you want to discard that take, or choose Send to send it.

Send an existing audio file

Use Attach a file to select supported audio. Miss Blue requests native iMessage voice-note presentation for audio sent from the conversation, but compatibility depends on the file and the sending platform.

If the file cannot be handled as a native voice note, read the returned error and use the documented attachment workflow when appropriate. Changing a filename extension does not convert the recording’s format.

Check what the recipient actually receives

Check the message’s status after sending. An uploaded file is not a delivery receipt, and a delivered note does not prove the recipient listened to it. Do not interpret a blank-text event as proof of playback.

Send a short, agreed test recording before using a new browser or file format with customers. Keep important dates, addresses, or next steps in a separate text message so they are easy to find.
